Homo tecnologicus is a portrait of man in the digital age. Internet and the social media have transformed the very essence of our society, creating narcissistic islands of egos. The individual displays him or herself on the net as if in a shop window, seeking to draw attention to themselves as a form of acknowledgement of personal value. Today all that affords value to the individual is appearance, display. The human face thus becomes a face which melts into its value as a mere display. 

The net is only just capable of using abundance to camouflage the fragility of the social bonds it creates. Universal communication has created a corresponding form of loneliness. And love appears, with the technology of choice, as a product of market capitalism. Finding your other half becomes a highly rational choice. So, does technology make us more human?
